Hope Disability Support provides a range of services as an alternative to residential care. This support is delivered in a home environment, in the community, and/or in a hospital setting. Some clients have complex physical, cognitive, emotional, or behavioral needs and may require an extensive level of support that cannot be provided in a home setting. If you are receiving Disability Support you will be provided with a range of specialized services to help you balance your life. You may be provided with specialist in-home care for a short or long period. You may also be provided with specialist services in the community or hospital setting or a combination of these services. The main aim of Disability Support is to help you stay in your own home, with family or friends where possible, and/or in a community setting, where you live independently, with minimal assistance from a carer.
Disability Support Services is a service available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
People with a disability who require support to live independently in their homes, in the community, or a hospital setting. There are two types of support provided under the Disability Support Services program. Some people may only require one type of support or another person may require a combination of the two types of support. If you are receiving Disability Support you will be provided with a range of specialized services to help you balance your life. You may be provided with specialist in-home care for a short or long period. You may also be provided with specialist services in the community or hospital setting or a combination of these services. Disability Support Services is a service for people with disability who need support to live independently in their homes, in the community, or a hospital setting. The service is delivered by disability support workers and disability support services providers.
Hope Disability Support workers are Specialists with experience and training in supporting people with disability and other health conditions. Their main roles are to help clients maintain their independence at home, in the community, and/or in a hospital setting. Hope Disability Support workers are individuals who have a disability under the Disability Discrimination Act and are required to meet the same requirements as anyone else working in the disability sector. Hope Disability Support workers can be either people with a disability or a person who is a person with experience in supporting people with disability.
As a Disability Support Worker, you may be required to work with a diverse range of people with disability and their carers. You will provide the client with a range of care services, which will help the client maintain their independence as an individual in the community and/or in a hospital setting. The type of services you will provide will vary depending on the client’s needs. The requirements for a Disability Support worker are a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Disability Support Services, a Diploma in Disability Support Services, or an Advanced Diploma in Disability Support Services from a recognized training provider. You must also have completed a minimum of 240 hours of Community Service with a valid Certificate of Completion and be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
